The bail is what catches the eye first. Two ribbons of 18K yellow gold cross and taper into a narrow loop, giving the drop a pinched teardrop outline before the stone even begins. Below it an oval blue sapphire sits in a complete halo of small round diamonds, the white of that ring separating the blue from the gold above it.
The whole drop runs about 19 by 9 millimeters, slender enough to register as one clear point of blue at conversational distance. It hangs from a yellow gold cable chain and sits high on the chest.
