An oval blue sapphire of 2.86 carats sits claw set at the center of this pendant, circled by a single row of small round diamonds that traces the oval exactly. A short bail rises from the halo, set with a few more stones of its own, so the light carries up from the frame to the chain.
The drop measures 22 by 11 millimeters including that bail, which puts the sapphire itself a little under half an inch across. White gold throughout means nothing warm reaches the blue at any point. At the neckline it hangs just below the hollow of the throat and reads from across a room as one dark point inside a bright ring.
