A pear-cut blue sapphire hangs point down here, wrapped in a narrow halo of small round diamonds that traces the teardrop exactly. The bail is short, so the drop rides close beneath the chain and moves very little as the wearer does.
At 21 by 12 millimeters the outline is slim and vertical, a shape that stays legible at the neckline without spreading. The 3.26 carat sapphire carries nearly all of the 3.48 carat total; the 0.22 carats of diamond do the outlining, and the 18K white gold behind them keeps every part of the piece in the same cool register.
