This one is a band rather than a solitaire. Round sapphires run along the top of the white gold shank in a graduated line, largest across the middle and diminishing outward until the end stones are little more than points of blue. They are bead set nearly flush with the metal, so the profile stays flat and the color sits right on the surface of the ring.
The gradation is what makes it read: the eye follows the taper inward rather than stopping on one stone. 0.26 carats across the whole row, on a slim rounded band sized 7 US.
