The center stone is an emerald cut sapphire, a step cut rectangle standing upright on the finger, and its long flat facets give back broad panels of dark blue rather than scattered sparkle. A close halo of small round diamonds runs the full way around it, following the corners so the outline stays rectangular.
Pave continues down both shoulders in a single line, tapering into a fine 14K yellow gold shank that is barely wider than the stones it carries. The result reads as a small rectangle of blue floating in a bright frame, warm gold outside it, and the low setting keeps the whole thing tight to the hand.
