An oval sapphire of 1.52 carats is ringed by a halo of round diamonds set on individual claws, the points standing slightly clear of the girdle so the frame reads as a sunburst rather than a smooth band of metal. The gaps between the claws let light in under the halo from every direction.
Behind the head the white gold shank is plain and tapered, with nothing set into it, so the cluster carries the ring alone. On the hand the halo brings the outline close to the width of the finger while the stone itself stays clearly the center.
