The shoulders are the detail worth looking at. On each side of the sapphire a small stepped panel of white metal is set with tiny square cut diamonds, stacked in a short flight of levels, an angular geometry pressed against an otherwise plain yellow gold band.
The center stone is an elongated cushion of 2.12 carats, held in four yellow prongs and set close to the finger, and it carries the ring almost by itself: the diamond content totals only 0.02 carats. That imbalance is the whole idea. Warm gold, one large block of blue, two small bright brackets holding it in place.
