A row of round diamonds circles the oval sapphire, each claw set individually so it stands slightly proud and the halo takes a scalloped edge rather than a smooth one. The band beneath carries no stones at all: plain, rounded, tapering gently as it comes up to the head.
That restraint leaves the sapphire to do the work, and at 2.14 carats it holds a deep blue that darkens toward the outer facets and opens up through the middle of the table. Diamond weight totals 0.24 carats, all of it in the halo, mounted in 18K white gold at size 7 US.
