The shank splits and crosses behind the head, so the oval blue sapphire sits at the meeting point of two curved arms rather than on a straight bar. Each arm is pavé set with small round diamonds that taper as they run away from the stone, and four yellow gold prongs hold the sapphire slightly proud of the band.
Read from above, the ring is mostly open metal and negative space, which keeps the 2.38 carat total looking light on the hand. The warm gold pulls a little heat into the blue while the two diamond lines do the opposite and keep the edges cool. At size 7 it sits low across the finger.
