A cushion cut sapphire, noticeably longer than it is wide, is gripped by four yellow gold prongs inside a close set diamond halo worked in white metal. The contrast is deliberate and holds up at a distance: warm gold at the corners and along the shank, a bright white outline drawn immediately around the blue.
The band is flat, plain and slim for the size of the head, which leaves the halo reading as a rounded rectangle floating just above the finger. 2.14 carats of sapphire, 0.24 carats of diamond in the frame.
