The shank splits below the setting and travels up as two slim lines of pave, leaving the oval sapphire raised on four yellow gold claws with daylight visible underneath. The pave itself sits in white metal, so the diamond rows stay distinct from the warm band instead of dissolving into it.
Color runs even across the sapphire end to end, a deep blue that holds its saturation right out to the girdle, and 2.26 carats reads here as a well proportioned oval rather than a dome. The 0.14 carats of diamond is spread across the two rows of the split shank. At size 7 US it sits low enough to wear alongside a band.
