The sapphire is a cushion cut of even mid-blue, held in a yellow gold bezel finished with a fine beaded edge that traces the whole outline of the stone. That beading is the detail worth looking at: it softens the meeting of metal and stone instead of leaving a hard bright rim, and it gives the head an older, hand-worked look. Diamonds run in a single pave row down each shoulder and stop cleanly where the bezel starts.
Those diamond-set shoulders read white against the yellow of the bezel, so the ring is effectively two-tone on the hand even though the mount is one metal. The head sits low and close, wide enough to fill the finger without overhanging it. Ring size 7 US.
