The sapphire is an elongated cushion, noticeably longer than it is wide, and it is set high in four yellow gold prongs with nothing surrounding it. The color is a bright cornflower rather than navy, and the cut leaves broad flat facets across the table that move in blocks of light instead of small flashes.
The shoulders carry the only other stones: one straight line of small round diamonds each side, 0.18 carats between them, bead set into a channel that reads white against the yellow band. 2.26 carats of blue sapphire brings the total to 2.44 carats.
18K yellow gold, size 7 US, with custom sizing available on request. Warm metal pushes a blue this light further toward its own color, which is the argument for setting a stone like this in gold rather than in white.
