The sapphire is an elongated cushion, noticeably longer than it is wide, and it is set with its length running up the finger so it occupies more of the space between the knuckles than the weight alone would suggest. Four slim claws hold it clear of the shoulders with nothing crowding the outline.
Diamonds are bead set into each shoulder in a short run that tapers as it meets the band, a detail that works at close range and vanishes at arm's length, leaving 2.36 carats of even blue to carry the ring on its own. The mount is 18K white gold at size 7 US, with no halo and no gallery work.
