The oval sapphire sits in yellow gold claws with no frame at all, and the diamonds are placed instead in two dense rows of pave along each shoulder, set in white metal panels that meet the stone squarely and then step down to a plain yellow band. Those panels give the ring a broad, flat top line, so the 2.64 carat sapphire reads as the middle section of a wide bar rather than as a raised solitaire.
Only 0.18 carats of diamonds are used, which keeps the shoulders bright without pulling attention from the blue. Yellow gold beneath and white pave alongside gives a two tone effect that shifts depending on the angle of the hand.
