The shank splits below the head and each half carries a line of small diamonds up to the stone, so the 2.74 carat oval sapphire is held aloft on four thin pave arms with daylight visible under and beside it. There is no halo. The setting is entirely about the split shank, and the effect from above is a blue oval floating on a pair of bright rails.
White gold and 0.20 carats of diamonds keep everything cool, and the sapphire sits east to west across the finger rather than along it, which makes the head look wider than the modest band would suggest.
