A large violet leaning blue sapphire is held in paired claws and raised on an open gallery that lifts it well clear of the finger. Below the stone the shank divides into two ribbons that cross and pass under it, each edged with a line of small diamonds, and the metal between them is pierced with long openings so light travels under the setting instead of stopping at solid gold.
Almost three carats of sapphire against 0.14 carats of diamond keeps the accent work confined to those shoulders rather than spread into a frame. 18K white gold, sized 7 US, and it sits tall.
