An oval blue sapphire sits high in four prongs at the top of this ring, with a small fan of round diamonds gathered at each shoulder and a line of pave carrying on down the tapered shank. Nothing frames the stone itself; it is left open on every side, which is part of why 2.80 carats reads as generously as it does here.
The 18K white gold holds the blue cool rather than warming it, and the bright shoulders draw a narrow line of light to either side of the center. At size 7 the head stands clear of the finger and the profile stays slim from the side.
