An emerald cut sapphire is the departure here, step cut and rectangular, held in four yellow gold claws with its long axis running down the finger. Two rows of small round diamonds travel along each shoulder in white metal, edged top and bottom by the yellow gold of the shank, so the ring reads two tone from every angle.
The 2.80 carat stone shows the broad flat table and stepped corners of the cut, and the warm gold pushes hard against the blue where the two meet. Size 7.
