The oval sapphire is gripped in yellow gold claws inside a halo of small diamonds, and the two metal colors stay deliberately separate: warm gold at the prongs and in the scrolled shoulders, cool white wherever a diamond is set. From the halo the shoulders narrow into a short twist of pave before the shank runs plain around the finger.
At 3.08 carats the sapphire is deep enough to go almost navy in shadow and to open to a clearer blue when it faces the light. The halo widens the face without lifting it far off the hand, so the ring covers a lot of finger while still sitting close. Size 7.
