Two metals are played against each other here. The 3.36 carat cushion sapphire is held in yellow gold claws and circled by a white halo of round diamonds, and the pave continues down both shoulders in white while the underside of the band stays yellow. Seen from above the ring looks like white gold; turned on the hand, the warmth comes back.
The halo is generous relative to the shank, which is deliberately thin, so the head sits proud and the 0.36 carats of diamonds are concentrated where they do the most work. The sapphire is deep and even in color across a broad cushion face.
