A large oval blue sapphire dominates the face of this ring, set north to south in double yellow gold claws at each end and open underneath so light reaches the pavilion. The color is a clear cornflower blue, lighter and more open in tone than a navy, with the facet pattern legible across the table.
The shank splits below the stone into two arms on each side, each set with a row of small round diamonds in white metal, leaving a narrow open wedge between them. That white pave against yellow gold reads as two tone from above and frames a nearly four carat oval without adding a halo around it. At size seven the head runs the full width of the finger.
