Each earring is built as a single oval cluster: one citrine laid flat at the middle with a ring of smaller ovals set upright around it, points turned outward so the edge of the cluster is scalloped rather than smooth. Gold claws rise between every stone and read almost as a second pattern of light around the rim.
Yellow gold plating under warm honey citrine gives an almost continuous gold surface, and the upright outer stones catch light at a different angle from the flat center, which is what keeps the cluster from flattening out. At 15 by 13 millimeters they sit high on the lobe and stay compact for their weight.
