A pear cut tourmaline in warm orange brown holds the center of this cocktail ring, ringed first by a pave outline and then by a circle of open petals. Each petal is its own small frame, outlined in pave and filled with a single tourmaline: teal blue and pink across the top, green and golden yellow down one side, deeper brown and amber along the other. The petals do not touch, so the silver openwork between them lets light through the entire head.
At arm's length it is a flower; up close it is a color chart, tourmaline being a species that crystallizes across this full spread of hues. The head is broad, close to a knuckle across, and at size 7.5 it covers the finger edge to edge.
