All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
Two round sapphires and nothing else. Each sits in four yellow gold claws placed at the compass points, high enough that the girdle stands clear of the metal and light can reach the pavilion from the side. The blue is deep enough to read close to navy in shadow, opening to a clearer, brighter blue wherever the crown meets direct light.
At 6 by 6 millimeters they sit flat and close to the lobe, and splitting 1.68 carats across the pair gives each stone real presence for a stud without standing far off the ear. The warm 14K yellow gold of the claws is the only other color in the piece, and there is very little of it: a basket reduced to four points.
