A round emerald is claw set at the foot of each earring in yellow gold, its green full and even across the face, and above it two ribbons cross: one a plain polished band, the other a strand pave set with small round diamonds in white metal. The loops interlace into a knot that sits directly over the stone and gives the piece its outline.
At 11 by 5 millimeters the pair is small, and the crossover is what creates movement in that space, the diamond line catching first and drawing the eye down to the emerald. Yellow gold around green reads warmer than a white setting would, and here it is the whole frame.
