Each stud is an emerald cut emerald and four claws, and that is the whole of the design. The step cut runs long parallel facets down the sides and leaves a broad flat table on top, so the green arrives as an even sheet of color instead of breaking into flashes.
The corners are clipped, which softens the rectangle at the outline, and the white gold claws take up almost no room at the edges. At 9 by 7 millimeters the pair covers a fair part of the lobe, and with 2.74 carats between the two stones there is nothing standing between the emerald and the ear.
