Emerald cut suits a stone worn this still. Each stud carries a step cut octagon of green emerald, 2.74 carats for the pair, and the long parallel facets running down the pavilion return light slowly and evenly instead of throwing quick flashes. The green is bright and leans slightly blue, with the step facets visible straight through the open table.
The setting stays out of the way: four rounded 14K yellow gold claws at the corners and nothing along the sides, so the octagonal outline stays crisp. At 9 by 7 millimeters each stone covers most of the lobe and reads as a clean rectangle of green from a few feet off.
