The opal is not perched above the citrine, it is the middle of a flower. Each drop centers on an oval opal cabochon, milky white with cool blue drifting under the dome, and the citrines ring it as petals in alternating pears and rounds, their orange running from amber at the inner edge to a deeper burnt tone at the rim. The gold plating pulls the cluster toward honey and leaves the pale cabochon looking cooler than it is.
Thirty four stones across the pair on lever backs, 34.5 millimeters overall, so each flower sits just under the lobe and turns as it swings. The cabochon gives back one soft rolling light where the faceted stones around it scatter.
