Oval rubies alternate with short diamond set bars the whole way around, one bar to every gap, so the red advances in even steps instead of massing into an unbroken block. Each ruby lies east to west in a four claw white gold head, and the stones are not matched exactly: some run toward a purplish crimson, others sit closer to clean scarlet, and the difference shows most where two neighbors meet across a bar.
White gold does more for this than a warm metal would, the cool edging holding each red apart from the next. Seven inches, closing with a hinged box clasp and a figure eight catch that folds flat, and the band articulates at every link so it drapes over the wrist rather than holding its own circle.
