Four rubies build each butterfly: two marquise cuts angled up and out for the upper wings, two rounder stones tucked beneath for the lower pair, every one of them prong set and matched in the same deep red. The body between them is plain polished silver, drawn up into a pair of fine antennae that finish in small beads.
At 10 by 8 millimeters the pair sits flat against the lobe like a stud, close enough to read as a shape up close and as two points of red across a room. Eight stones share the 0.60 carats, which keeps each wing small and the outline crisp.
