Round pink opal cabochons graduate across the front of this bolo bracelet, the largest at the middle and each one stepping smaller toward the ends, so the row tapers instead of running level. Nine of them sit in fine claws, and between every pair a small round white topaz interrupts the blush with a colorless point.
Cabochon cutting is the right choice for this material: the domes give back one soft even sheen rather than the sharp separate flashes a faceted stone throws, and the pink stays opaque throughout. Opal accounts for 5.04 carats and the topaz for 0.26. White box chain feeds through a polished slider bead, so the fit is drawn in by hand and lets back out to 10 inches.
