A large oval Swiss blue topaz of 4.98 carats sits at the centre on four claws, and the interest is in what flanks it. Each shoulder carries a fan of black diamonds, 0.12 carats in total, pave set in a wedge that meets the stone, then gives way to small white topaz, 0.22 carats, running on down the shank.
Black to white to bright silver on either side of a pale blue centre. The dark shoulders frame the topaz far more sharply than plain metal would, and they are what gives the ring its graphic quality. Ring size 8 US.
