The tanzanites are pear cut and they do not sit in a single row. Stones are set in facing pairs with their points turned inward, so eighty-six of them build a double line with a soft zigzag running down the middle of the band. That doubling is what makes twelve carats read wider across the wrist than a plain single row of the same weight would.
Color shifts as the bracelet turns, nearer blue in one light and nearer violet in another, which is the behavior this species is known for. Rhodium plated sterling silver keeps the metal neutral so nothing competes with that shift. A box clasp with two hinged safety catches closes it at 7.25 inches.
