The frame is the event here. An oval tanzanite sits in a white metal collet at the middle, and radiating out from it is a full skirt of tapered baguette white topaz, each one set point inward so the whole surround fans like the pleats of a ballerina setting. A line of small beading in the plated gold edges the outside of that fan.
Tanzanite carries blue and violet at once depending on how the light falls, and the colorless topaz around it competes for brightness but never for color, which leaves the center the only hue in the piece. The shank is narrow and flat, so the head reads considerably wider than the band. Sized 7 US.
