The tanzanites are not a halo. They cover the entire top of the ring, small rounds pave set in concentric rows that sweep over the crown of a bombe dome and down both shoulders before the shank narrows to the finger. The oval amethyst sits in a well at the center of all that, a paler pinkish violet held inside the tanzanites' denser blue violet.
Wide and domed across the finger, the ring reads as a field of color rather than as a stone with accents. From a short distance the pave fills in solid and the center oval is the only shape that resolves. Rhodium plated silver, size 5.5.
