All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
Each earring carries two opal cabochons rather than one. The upper is a small oval ringed by round rhodolites; a short faceted rhodolite link drops from it to a second, larger flower where an oval opal sits inside a ring of rhodolite petals and then an outer wreath of pear cut black spinels set point outward.
Black rhodium plating darkens every setting to near charcoal, and that is what lets the opals read as brightly as they do: a cabochon returns light as a rolling sheet, green through gold here, against a background that gives back nothing at all. At 52 by 28 millimeters the drops hang well below the lobe and turn with the head. The pair was assembled once in this combination and has not been duplicated.
