This is a ballerina setting. A six carat oval amethyst holds the center in an even, deep purple, circled first by a close halo of small round white topaz and then by a skirt of tapered baguettes that fan outward like pleats. Four smaller round amethysts break into that skirt at the sides, two to the left and two to the right, so the purple does not stop at the center stone.
The baguette fan carries the outline well past the oval itself, and that spread is what a ring of this weight is built for. Rhodium plated silver throughout, with the shank tapering cleanly away from a wide gallery.
