The silhouette is the story here: an open hourglass, a heart shaped upper lobe that pinches to a narrow waist and flares again into a rounded triangle, with the entire outline traced in black spinel pave. Nothing fills the frame except a seven stone amethyst flower that floats in the lower opening, six round stones set around a seventh.
Each drop hangs from a small pave triangle at the lobe holding one more round amethyst, so eight amethysts appear on each ear. Black rhodium plating darkens the metal to nearly the tone of the spinel, which leaves the purple reading as the only color in a piece that runs 56 millimeters long and 25 millimeters across.
