All Gemstones are Natural in Origin
These are openwork drops rather than solid panels. Each earring opens with a small navette outlined in black spinel around a short column of round amethysts, then hangs a much longer leaf shaped frame below it. Curved spinel ribs cross that frame and split it into open sections, with the amethysts massed in a loose cross at the middle and two more riding high on the ribs. The spinels stay dark and matte, so the purple carries the light alone.
Sixty three millimeters is a long fall, but the cut away construction keeps them from reading heavy at the ear. Rhodium plated silver throughout, 294 spinels against 24 amethysts.
