Each earring runs as a straight line of four amethysts: three small rounds descending in a graduated column, then a long oval at the bottom that carries almost all of the weight. The oval is cut deep, and the purple concentrates toward its lower half where the pavilion gathers, so the color darkens as the eye travels down the drop.
Sterling silver appears only as the claws and the short links between stones, which leaves the run of purple nearly unbroken across 43 by 9 millimeters. They swing freely from the lobe and are as much a profile earring as a frontal one.
