Three rows of amethyst wrap the front of each huggie: a center line of about seven baguettes in pale lilac, flanked on either side by a row of round stones in a deeper purple. The change of cut between the rows matters, one broad flat reflection down the middle and a scatter of small points along both edges.
The back half of each hoop is left plain and polished, so the stone work sits where it is seen, and a hinged catch closes them tight against the lobe. At 23 by 11 millimeters they are broad across the face for a hoop this size, carrying 5.52 carats of amethyst across the pair.
