The amethysts are cut square with the corners taken off, a step cut whose parallel facets run inward from the edges toward a flat table, so the purple arrives in broad panels rather than in sparkle. A claw holds each corner, and the diamond halo repeats the same eight sided outline around the stone, corners included, with a milgrain edge running along both sides of the row.
At 16 by 15 millimeters they are close to square and sit flat against the lobe. Thirty-eight diamonds cover the two frames, and the rhodium plating holds the metal white so the depth of the purple carries at a distance.
