Heart cut amethyst carries the color, one stone to each ear, violet through the crown and deepening where the facets meet at the cleft. Around every stone a double row of small white topaz traces the heart, the inner row tight against the girdle and the outer row stepping out from it, which widens the outline to 12 by 11 millimeters without adding any height at the lobe.
Yellow gold plating appears only at the prongs, three warm points holding each heart against an otherwise white face. At distance the earrings register first as a bright heart, then as the purple filling it.
