A pavé of black diamonds rings each amethyst here, a dark close set border that leaves the purple stone as the only bright thing in the earring. The amethyst is checkerboard cut and set on point, with white claws holding it top and bottom.
The contrast carries the design: transparent violet against opaque black, cool claws against the dark pavé. At 16 by 9 millimeters they stay small enough to wear as a stud.
