Deep purple amethyst in an emerald cut takes up nearly the whole of each drop, the step cut facets stacking down the sides so the color gathers darker toward the middle of the stone. Three small round white topaz sit in a bar directly above it, the only white in the piece, carrying the stone up to the lever back.
Corner claws hold it and nothing frames it, so the purple runs right out to the edge of the outline. At 29 by 9 millimeters the drop stays narrow, and 6.48 carats concentrated in two stones reads as a block of color rather than as sparkle.
