Oval amethysts run the length of each hoop in a shared prong setting, the purple deepening and lightening from stone to stone as the cut takes the light. The line climbs both sides from the base and stops at the plain gold hinge and catch at the top, so the color reads as a long arc rather than a closed circle. Thirty stones across the pair carry 4.80 carats between them.
The hoops are drawn as a tall oval rather than a true circle, 30 millimeters top to bottom and only 3.6 millimeters across, which keeps them sitting close to the ear. Warm 14K yellow gold plating over sterling silver sits behind the violet without pulling it toward brown, and the gold prongs between the stones show as small bright breaks in the color.
