Ten carats in one elongated cushion of amethyst, set lengthwise along the finger and held at four corners. A stone this size needs its mount to disappear, and this one nearly does: the shank splits into several slim parallel bars on each shoulder with gaps between them, so from above the silver frames the amethyst without adding visual weight beside it. Purple at this depth of color and this scale is a cocktail ring in the proper sense, meant to be the only thing on the hand.
