A single elongated cushion of amethyst carries all 7.56 carats, held in four double claws and set lengthwise so the stone follows the finger rather than sitting across it. The shoulders are the surprise: a basketweave texture in warm gold plating, edged on both sides by narrow pale rails, so the ring reads two tone from the side even though the top is all stone. Purple against yellow gold sits warmer than the same stone in white metal, and the width of the band gives the color something to push against.
