A round amethyst is set where the two arms of a crossover shank pass one another, so the band twists past the stone instead of running straight into it. The purple sits at a medium depth, lighter across the crown and gathering toward the base of the stone.
Channels of small white topaz follow each arm of the crossover and stop short of the center, which keeps the eye traveling around the ring rather than straight at the middle. Sterling silver in a size 6, 2.38 carats of amethyst with 0.10 carats of topaz.
